Who is Halil İnalcık?
Halil İnalcık is a leading Turkish historian of the Ottoman Empire. Between 1972 and 1993 he taught Ottoman history at the University of Chicago. Since 1994 he has been teaching at Bilkent University, where he founded the history department.
