Who was Hans-Georg Stümke?
Hans-Georg Stümke was a German author, teacher, historian and publisher.
Stümke worked first as a weather expert for the German Bundeswehr. He studied after hours in Bundeswehr history at the university in Berlin. During the 1960s he had his coming out. He was a LGBT activist during the 1960s and 1970s. Stümke reported in Germany over the Stonewall riots in New York City. Stümke wrote books over LGBT topics during the next years. In 2002 he died of cancer in Berlin. His grave is in the Alten St. Matthäus-Kirchhof cemetery in Berlin.
