Harcharan Singh Balli
Politician
Who is Harcharan Singh Balli?
Harcharan Singh Balli is an Indian politician belonging to the Indian National Congress, who was Industries Minister in the Delhi state government of Madan Lal Khurana.
On April 11, 2007, the Supreme Court of India sentenced Balli to three months in jail after he confessed that last year he had indeed broken the seals of 22 shops, which were sealed on the court’s orders in west Delhi.
Earlier, in July 2006, when asked by Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Mr Justice C K Thakker as to what actually he had done, Balli had denied having even gone to Tilak Nagar on April 1. However, this act was committed in the full glare of TV cameras and the denial could not be kept up.
