Who was Harold Annison?

Harold Edward Annison was an English swimmer and water polo player who was born in Croydon. He competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics and 1924 Summer Olympics.

In the 1920 Olympics he won a bronze medal in the 4×200 m freestyle relay event and was fourth in his first heat of 100 m freestyle event, fifth in the semifinal of 400 m freestyle event and third in the semifinal of 1500 m freestyle event and did not advance in all occasions.

Four years later in Paris he was eight in the 400 m freestyle event, ninth in the 1500 m freestyle event and fifth in the 4×200 m freestyle relay event. He was also a member of British water polo team, which lost to Hungary in the first round and did not advance.
