Who was Harold Brakspear?

Sir Harold William Brakspear was a noted restoration architect and archaeologist.

He restored a number of ancient and notable buildings, including Bath Abbey, Windsor Castle and Brownston House, Devizes and St Cyriac's Church in Lacock.

He lived in Corsham, Wiltshire, very close to his projects at Lacock Abbey and Great Chalfield Manor.
