Who was Harry Locke?

Harry Locke was a British character actor.

He was born and died in London. He was a familiar face in three decades of British cinema, with appearances including Passport to Pimlico, Reach for the Sky, Carry On Nurse, The Devil-Ship Pirates and The Family Way.

In 1969 he appeared in Randall and Hopkirk as a night porter. In 1972, he played Platon Karataev in the BBC production of War and Peace— a brilliant performance as a "minor" character who advances the development of Pierre Bezukhov, the central character. also on screen he played small parts as assorted working men clerks porters and cab drivers.
