Who is Harry McCrory?
Harry Nickel McCrory was the third head college football coach for the West Virginia University Mountaineers located in Morgantown, West Virginia and he held that position for the 1895 season. His coaching record at West Virginia was 5 wins, 1 loss, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him 25th at West Virginia in total wins and fourth at West Virginia in winning percentage.
McCrory later worked as a druggist in West Virginia. He married Bessie Lee Nuzum in 1897. He died of bright's disease in 1907. He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont.
Harry McCrory's grandson, Lee Harland McCrory was presented with an alumni award from West Virginia University.
