Who is Harsiesi?
Harsiesi, son of Paious, was an ancient Egyptian who is believed to have led a rebellion against Egypt's Macedonian rulers in the 2nd century BC. The rebellion may have taken place from 131 to 129 BC, during the civil war between the Egyptian king Ptolemy VIII Physcon and his sister Cleopatra II, and is believed to have captured Thebes from Ptolemy VIII. Harsiesi died in battle.
