Who is Hassan Farhangi?

Dr. Hassan Farhangi is known for his work in the development of Canada's first smart microgrid on the campus of British Columbia Institute of Technology in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

Farhangi holds a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. His career spans over 25 years in private & public sector teaching, research and product development. He was a founding faculty of the Technical University of British Columbia, where as Dean and Professor of Information Technology, he developed an academic workflow for the development and delivery of interdisciplinary curricula, and led the development and delivery of Information Technology component of TechBC's TechOne undergraduate program.

Currently, Farhangi is the Director for the Group for Advanced Information Technology at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Adjunct Professor at the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University and Adjunct Professor at the ECE Department of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Farhangi is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
