Who is Hatidža Hadžiosmanović-Mahić?

Hatidža Hadžiosmanović-Mahić is the former President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She was born in Sarajevo on 19 August 1938. She graduated from the Sarajevo Law School on June 30 ], 1962 and passed the bar exam in 1967 with excellent results. From 1957-1967 she worked as the Head of Legal Department of Tobacco Factory in Sarajevo. Thereafter and until 2002 she was holding office as a judge of various regular courts: Municipal Court I Sarajevo; District Court of Sarajevo; the Supreme Court of SR BiH from 1988 until the dissolution of Yugoslavia and recognition of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina; the Supreme Court of R BiH and then the Supreme Court of Federation of BiH. On 30 July 2002, she was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is currently holding this office. She served as the Vice-President of the Constitutional Court from April 2005 until June 2006 when she was appointed the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In almost 40 years of the judicial practice, she adjudged a great number of different civil law cases adopting decisions.
