Who was Helen Bosanquet?
Helen Bosanquet, née Dendy was a social theorist and social reformer.
She is most recognizably known as one of the leaders of the Charity Organisation Society in Britain. She was also the wife of philosopher Bernard Bosanquet.
She was a major influence on the Majority report, which was published in 1909, which was one of two documents that arose out of the Royal Commission on the Poor Laws and Relief of Distress 1905-09. The other report being the Minority report.
Her influential English translation of Christoph von Sigwart's Logic appeared in 1895.
Helen Bosanquet was the daughter of the Reverend John Dendy and obtained first class honours in the Moral Sciences Tripos at Newnham College, Cambridge
