Who was Henrik Sjöberg?
Henrik Sjöberg was a Swedish athlete, gymnast and medical student. He competed as the only Swedish participant at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Sjöberg placed fourth or fifth in his preliminary heat of the 100 metres and did not advance to the final.
Sjöberg also competed in the high jump. He placed fourth out of the five man field, jumping a height of 1.60 metres.
Sjöberg was one of nine athletes to compete in the long jump. The only information known about his placing in the event is that he was not one of the top four. Similarly, he was not among the top four of the nine throwers of the discus.
In the gymnastics competitions, Sjöberg entered the vault competition. He did not earn a medal, though beyond that his placement in the event is unknown.
