Who was Henry of Eppenstein?
Henry of Eppenstein, usually numbered Henry III, was a German prince who ruled the Duchy of Carinthia and served as Margrave of Verona from 1090 to 1122. He was the son of Markwart, Count of Eppenstein and the brother of Ulrich I of Eppenstein, the Patriarch of Aquileia. Both brothers were allies of Henry IV against Conrad II of Italy.
Henry died childless, ending the Eppensteiner line in Carinthia. The duchy was taken over by the Sponheim line.
