Who was Hsu Shih-hsien?
Hsu Shih-hsien was a Taiwanese academic and politician. She was the first female PhD in Taiwan, and the first female mayor of a Taiwanese city – she was twice elected mayor of Chiayi City in central Taiwan. Hsu's daughter is former Minister of the Interior Chang Po-ya.
