Who is Hu Xiaolian?

Hu Xiaolian is the Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China and the former director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange in China. Hu was ranked 23rd on The Wall Street Journal's "The 50 Women to Watch 2007" list. She was ranked fourth on The Wall Street Journal's "The 50 Women to Watch 2008" list and was referred to as "one of the most powerful people in the world". Ms Hu was elected an alternate member of the CCP Central Committee at the November 2012 18th National Party Congress.
