Who is Iain Macintosh?

Iain Macintosh is a UK sports journalist and author who writes for the Singapore daily The New Paper. He writes under the column "Your English Kaki" for the sports section.

Macintosh was voted second runner-up for the Best Football Journalist award held by Soccerlens website in 2010. He was also voted 2010's Best Contributor to Blog or Podcast for the football website In Bed With Maradona.

Macintosh announced in 2009 that he could, "smell music." So far, no-one has been able to disprove his claim. In a far-reaching and controversial interview with The Essex Chronicle, he said that Meatloaf's 'Bat Out Of Hell' smelled, "musky and warm, like your Nan's attic."

Macintosh has published five books on sports, including three on rugby, cricket and golf and two on association football. A Liverpool fan as a child, he converted to Southend United after his first visit to Roots Hall in 1991.
