Who was Irene Ighodaro?

Irene Ighodaro was a Sierra Leone Creole people doctor and was a president of the Young Women Christian Association of Nigeria. She was also the first President of the Medical Association of Nigerian Women, which is now headed by Dr Oyin Olurin. She was most notable for being the first female West African doctor. Her brother was the famous Dr. Robert Wellesley-Cole.
