Who is Irina Emeliantseva?
Irina Emeliantseva is a Russian composer and pianist.
She studied piano at a music college in her home town. She won the regional piano competition for best interpretation of Prokofiev's works.
She studied composition and piano at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. In the final years of her studies she worked as Prof. Slonimsky's assistant. She graduated in 1999.
From 1996 to 1999 she took international master classes in Germany, Russia, and Ukraine. She participated in various festivals and concerts, giving first performances of works by Dittrich, Messiaen, Roslavets, Lutosławski, Humel, and other composers, as well as her own works.
She received commissions from Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur and young.euro.classic festival at Europäischen Musiksommer Berlin
She was Composer-in-residence at Künstlerhof Schreyahn.
She performs extensively as a pianist, seeing the promotion of the New Piano Music as her mission.
