Who is Isaac Berzin?

Isaac Berzin is a chemical engineer who in 2001 founded GreenFuel Technologies Corporation, a company that aims to use algae to eat up carbon emissions and to produce renewable energy. This company has closed down in May 2009.

Berzin holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University in Israel. He graduated with a B.S. Chemical engineering degree in Biotechnology, summa cum laude, from Ben-Gurion University, Israel.

In 2008, Berzin was named to the Time 100 Most Influential List.

Berzin is now a senior faculty member at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya and is establishing an Israel-based international institute to formulate alternative energy policies.

In June 2008, Berzin addressed 130 members of the "Cleantech Israel" business network. He discussed his experience at GreenFuel Technologies and Israel's potential to be a world leader in renewable energy.
