Who is Israel Roll?

Israel Roll was an Israeli archaeologist and academic. He was the former director of the Apollonia-Arsuf excavations, and one of the directors of the excavations of the Roman Temple at Kedesh. He was currently retired from Tel Aviv University. He completed his bachlor's degree in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His Ph.D. thesis on the cult of Mithras, on which he wrote an article, is from the Sorbonne. The current director of the excavationat Apollonia-Arsuf, Dr. Oren Tal is currently in an ongoing effort to publish the last seasons of the excavation.
