Who was Ivan Hryhorovych-Barskyi?

Ivan Hryhorovych-Barskyi or Ivan Grigorovich-Barsky is a Ukrainian architect who worked in the Late Cossack Baroque style. He was a graduate of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and designed many buildings and churches in Kiev and elsewhere.

Buildings designed in Kiev by him are: the church and belfry of Saint Cyril's Monastery and Church, the Church of the Holy Protectress, the Church of Saint Nicholas on the Bank, the belfry of Saints Peter and Paul Monastery, the Old Bursa of the Kyivan Mohyla Academy, the Gostynyi Dvor warehouse, the Fountain of Samson, and the Magistrat grain warehouse.

Other buildings designed by him are: the Church of the Three Saints in Lemeshi near Chernihiv, the regimental chancellery, the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Kozelets, the buildings of the Mezhyhirskyi Monastery in Vyshhorod.
