Who is Jack Hatch?

Jack G. Hatch is the Iowa State Senator from the 33rd District. A Democrat, he has served in the Iowa Senate since 2003 and is currently an assistant majority leader. He received his B.S. and MPA from Drake University.

Hatch currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate - the Appropriations committee; the Economic Growth committee; the Human Resources committee; the Labor and Business Relations committee; and the State Government committee. He also serves as chair of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving as a representative in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1985 to 1993 and from 2001 to 2003, serving as board member of Des Moines Water Works in 1998, board member of Des Moines Public Housing from 1996 to 1997, board member of Children & Families of Iowa from 1980 to 1984, and a congressional candidacy in 1995 and 1996.

Hatch was re-elected in 2006 with 10,204 votes, running unopposed.
