Who is Jackie Winters?
Jackie Winters is a Republican politician in the U.S. state of Oregon. She currently serves as a state senator, representing her Salem district.
Winters was elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 1998, and became the first African-American Republican ever to serve in the Oregon Legislative Assembly. She ran for the U.S. Congress in 2004.
Winters' family survived the Vanport flood of 1948.
