Who was Jagjit Singh Aurora?
Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora was the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He led the ground forces campaign in the Eastern front of the war, which led to an overwhelming defeat of the Pakistan Army and the creation of Bangladesh.
Aurora was born in 1916 in Kala Gujran, Jhelum district, British India and died in New Delhi, India.
