Who was James Duane?

James Duane was an American lawyer, jurist, and Revolutionary leader from New York. He served as a delegate to the Continental Congress, a New York state senator, 44th Mayor of New York City, and a U.S. District Judge, and was a signer of the Articles of Confederation.
