James E. Rutrough

Who is James E. Rutrough?

Mr. James E. Rutrough is a Vice Chairman and Chief Administrative Officer at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. He is also a Senior Vice President and Director at State Farm Investment Management Corporation. Mr. Rutrough joined State Farm in 1971 after his graduation. He has worked in State Farm offices in Virginia, California, Colorado, Maryland, and Illinois. He was named a Vice President of Personnel at the company's corporate headquarters in 1990, became Regional Vice President at its Illinois office in 1992, and returned to corporate headquarters in 1994 as Senior Vice President. He was named as an Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer in 1998.Mr. Rutrough also is a member of the Board of Directors at State Farm Fire and Casualty Company and has served on the Board of the Illinois Guaranty Fund and the Mennonite College of Nursing. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant designations. Mr. Rutrough graduated from the University of Virginia.
