Who was James Nyamweya?
James Nyamweya was a Kenyan politician who served as Foreign Minister from 1967-1968.
Nyamweya was born in Kisii, Kenya and educated at King's College London where he look an LLB in law in 1958. During his studies he served as a Barrister-at-Law at Lincoln's Inn. He served as Kenyan Foreign Minister from 1967-1968.
He served as the MP of the Nyaribari Constituency from 1963 to 1976 representing the KANU party.
After the multiparty system was revoked in Kenya in 1992, James Nyamweya led the newly found Democratic Party in the Kisii area. His son George Nyamweya later served as the Secretary General of DP.
Nyamweya died in 1996.
