Who is James Randal Hall?

James Randal Hall is a United States federal judge.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, Hall received a B.A. from Augusta College in 1979 and a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1982. He was in private practice in Augusta, Georgia from 1982 to 1985, and was then vice-president & legal counsel of Bankers First Corporation until 1996, thereafter returning to private practice until 2008. He was a State senator of 22nd District of Georgia from 2003 to 2004.

On March 19, 2007, Hall was nominated by President George W. Bush to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia vacated by B. Avant Edenfield. Hall was confirmed by the United States Senate on April 10, 2008, and received his commission on April 29, 2008.
