Who is Jan McLean?

Jan McLean is a dollmaker from Dunedin in New Zealand. She is regarded as one of the world's top dollmakers.

McLean's first dolls, "Chloe" and "Phoebe" were created in 1987. By 1991, she was exhibiting at the New York Toy Fair, where her doll "Pansy" won a Dolls Award for Excellence.

Many of McLean's dolls are limited edition dolls made of porcelain, but in recent years she has expanded to produce more affordable dolls in vinyl. These - the Lollipop Girls - are smaller versions of the porcelain originals and are intended as being "upmarket competition for Barbie".
