Who is Jane Marcus?
Jane Marcus is a Distinguished English professor at the City University of New York and the City College of New York. She is a notable feminist critic, focusing mainly on modernist texts, particularly the works of Virginia Woolf. She taught at the University of Texas and helped found women's studies programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Texas. She is the mother of novelist Ben Marcus and portrayed in his book Notable American Women.
