Who is Janne Stefansson?
Janne Stefansson is a Swedish cross country skier who competed during the 1960s. He won a gold medal in the 4 x 10 km at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. He also finished 4th in both the 30 km and 50 km events at those same games.
Stefansson also won a silver in the 30 km event at the 1962 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane. Stefansson has also won the long distance cross-country ski race Vasaloppet on seven occasions between 1962 and 1969, only missing victory in 1967, when he finished second behind Assar Rönnlund.
