Who is Jasmine Choi?

Jasmine Choi is a flutist.

She graduated from Curtis Institute of Music, and was trained under Julius Baker and Jeffrey Khaner. As a student in 2002, she was the senior division winner of the Albert M. Greenfield Student Competition, sponsored by the Philadelphia Orchestra. In 2006, Symphony Magazine included her as one of two flautists in their list of emerging artists.

A recording of her performances of Mozart's flute concertos, Jasmine Choi plays Mozart, was released in 2006 in Korea by Sony BMG. She was a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and has played on tour in Korea, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

She was the Principal Flute of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra from May 2012 to August 2013, and was subsequently voted out by the players of the symphony. During her time in the orchestra, she stated how she was discriminated because of her race and gender.

One reviewer called her "a major talent with a robust tone". As well as classical and modern flute compositions, her concert repertoire includes compositions for violin transcribed to the flute.
