Who is Jay Lee?

Jay L. "Biffy" Lee was an American football player and coach.

Playing Days

In 1910, Lee attended Albion College in Michigan where he played football and baseball.

In 1911 and 1912, he was the quarterback at the University of Notre Dame. He was the college roommate of Knute Rockne.

Coaching

In 1916, Lee was an assistant football coach at Notre Dame.

He served as the head football coach at the University at Buffalo from 1929 to 1930, compiling a record of 8–7. He was also on the faculty of the University of Buffalo, lecturing in the School of Marketing.

In 1931, he unexpectedly resigned as the head coach of the University of Buffalo football program to attend to business duties.
