Who was Jay Young?

Silas Joseph Young Jay Young. He was one of the original news anchors on CNN's Headline News in Atlanta, Georgia, in the 1980s.

Young was a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Jay was a staff member on future Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards' election team in 1971 before moving on to become a popular regional print journalist and newscaster in Lafayette, Louisiana KATC TV 3 in 1975-76 and in Baton Rouge on WAFB-TV 9 in the late 1970s and on WBRZ-TV in the early 1980s to mid-1980s, the latter newscast was reportedly the highest rated ABC-TV newscast for a market its size in the country. Young later published three novels :Where Heathens Pray, Smuggler's Forecast, and Flights of Fantsy.
