Who was Jeong Do-jeon?
Jeong Do-jeon, also known by the pen name Sambong, was a politician of the early Joseon dynasty. He was a supporter and adviser to King Taejo, who founded the Joseon dynasty. Jeong Do-jeon was the principal architect of the Joseon regime—laying down its ideological, institutional, and legal framework which would govern it for five centuries.
