Who was Jerald Fishman?

Jerald G. Fishman is President and Chief Executive Officer of Analog Devices, headquartered near Boston in Norwood,

Massachusetts. He is also a member of the company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Fishman began his career at Analog Devices in 1971 in product marketing. Over the next several years he held

a series of management positions in marketing, operations and strategic planning, which led to being named General

Manager of the Analog Devices Semiconductor division in 1979. He was elected Vice President in 1980, Group Vice

President in 1982 and Executive Vice President in 1988. He was elected President and Chief Operating Officer in

1991 and President and Chief Executive Officer on Nov. 2, 1996. In 2004, Mr. Fishman was named "CEO of the

Year" by Electronics Business magazine. This award singles out that chief executive who demonstrates an

outstanding business sense, a passion for the job, unquestionable integrity and ethics and who commands the respect

of his peers. The CEO of the Year award also is based on a series of metrics, including corporate financial

performance and the ability to motivate employees, build partnerships with suppliers and customers, and successfully

address major strategic challenges.

In addition to his responsibilities at Analog Devices, Mr. Fishman is active as a member of the Boards of Directors

of several other publicly held companies including Cognex Corp. and Xilinx Corp. Mr. Fishman also sits on The Board

of Trustees for the Lahey Clinic. He was raised in New York City and earned a BSEE degree from the City College of

New York in 1967. He also holds an MSEE degree from Northeastern University/1970, an MBA from Boston University/1972

and Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk Law School/1976.
