Who was Jerry Claiborne?

Jerry Claiborne was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Virginia Tech, the University of Maryland, and his alma mater, the University of Kentucky, compiling a career college football record of 179–122–8. Claiborne was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1999.
