Who is Joan Burke?
Joan T. Burke is a retired Irish Fine Gael politician, farmer and nurse. She was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála for the Roscommon constituency at the July 1964 by-election caused by the death of her husband James Burke. She was re-elected at each subsequent general election until she retired from politics at the 1981 general election.
