Who is Joe Schaffernoth?
Joseph Arthur Schaffernoth is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for three seasons. The right-handed pitcher appeared in 74 games, all but one as a relief pitcher, for the Chicago Cubs from 1959 to 1961 and the Cleveland Indians in 1961. He attended Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey.
Schaffernoth stood 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 195 pounds in his playing days. In 118 MLB innings pitched, he allowed 116 hits and 53 bases on balls, and recorded 68 strikeouts.
