Who was Joe Turnesa?
Joseph R. Turnesa was one of seven famous golfing brothers; Phil, Frank, Joe, Mike, Doug, Jim, and Willie. All but Willie turned professional and Joe won the most times on the PGA Tour.
Turnesa finished second to Walter Hagen in the 1927 PGA Championship. He was a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup teams in 1927 and 1929. He was born in New York, New York and died in Florida.
