Who is Joey Corpus?
Joey Corpus is a violin teacher living in New York City.
Corpus studied the violin in Philadelphia with the late Jascha Brodsky. His previous teachers were Luis Valencia and Nelly Söregi. He studied chamber music with Orlando Cole, among others. Cole referred to him as a "real violin talent."
He was featured in a five-page article in the November 2001 issue of The Strad magazine. Among his students are Lara St. John, Louise Owen, Wen Qian, Chuan Yun Lee, and Katharine Gowers.
In his spare time he enjoys reading, doing card tricks and playing chess.
His brother is the Spanish violinist Hector Corpus-Aguilar.
