Who is John Ellison?

The Rt Rev John Alexander Ellison was the Anglican Bishop of Paraguay from 1988 to 2007.

Born in 1940, he was educated at the London College of Divinity and ordained in 1968, he began his career with Curacies at St Paul’s Woking and St Saviours Belgrano, Buenos Aires. In 1983 he as appointed Vicar of St Mary the Virgin Aldridge, a post he held until his elevation to the Episcopate. Having retired, he is now an honorary assistant bishop in the Diocese of Winchester.
