Who was John Hansen?
John Angelo Valdemar Østergaard Hansen var en dansk fotballspiller som deltok i de olympiske leker 1948 i London.
Hansen vant en olympisk bronsemedalje i fotball under Sommer-OL 1948 i London. Han var med på det danske laget som kom på tredje plass i fotballsturneringen bak Sverige og Jugoslavia. Danmark vant åttendedelsfinalen med 3-1 over Egypt og i kvartfinalen beseiret de Italia med 5-3. De tapte semifinalen med 2-4 mot Sverige men de vant bronsefinalen over Storbritannia med 5-3.
Som flere andre fra det danske bronselaget ble Hansen profesjonell fotballspiller i Italia. Han spilte i Juventus FC 1949-54 og i SS Lazio 1955-56. Hansen spilte seks sesonger for Juventus ialt 187 kamper og scoret 124 mål for klubben.
