Who was John Arthur Jarvis?

John Arthur Jarvis was a British swimmer who competed in the late 19th century and early 20th century. He participated in Swimming at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris and won two gold medals in the 1000 metre and the 4000 m freestyle events. Jarvis was born in Leicester.

Jarvis entered the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1968.
