John Butler Smith was an American manufacturer and Republican politician from Hillsborough, New Hampshire. Born in Saxtons River, Vermont, he served New Hampshire as a member of the Governor's Council, and as Governor. Smith Memorial Congregational Church, U.C.C in the town is named for him. He was a member of the church. He died in Hillsborough.
