Who was John Crowell?
John Crowell was a Delegate from Alabama Territory, the first Representative from the state of Alabama, and the United States agent to the Creek Indians. Crowell was born in Halifax County, North Carolina in 1780, and served as a Colonel in The War of 1812. He moved to Alabama in 1815 and died at Fort Mitchell, Alabama in 1846.
