Who is John D. Hargreaves?
John D. Hargreaves was the Burnett-Fletcher Professor of History at the University of Aberdeen. He is noted for his work on the history of Africa; its colonisation and de-colonistation. His career at Aberdeen began in 1954 when he was appointed as a lecturer in History, in 1962 he was given his chair, he went part-time in 1982 and retired in 1985.
A festschirft was produced in his honour.
