Who is John E. Volkmann?
John E. Volkmann was a sound engineer.
Mr. Volkmann graduated from the University of Illinois in 1940. He worked most of his professional life for RCA in the fields of acoustics, specifically large scale loudspeakers and stereophony. He retired from RCA in 1970. He was, amongst others, responsible for the development and design of the sound systems for the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
He was a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, the Acoustical Society of America, and the Audio Engineering Society. He received the AES Gold Medal in 1966.
