Who is John G. Stratton?

John Stratton is executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Verizon Communications. In this role, which he assumed on Jan. 1, 2007, he is responsible for marketing and brand initiatives across all of Verizons business units. Formerly, Stratton served as vice president and chief marketing officer of Verizon Wireless for six years, responsible for the company's market strategy and segmentation, pricing, product management, wireless device procurement, national distribution, brand management and marketing communications. Stratton joined Verizons predecessor company, Bell Atlantic Mobile, in 1993 as director of retail sales and operations. Later he served as vice president marketing for the company and then as president of Bell Atlantic Mobiles Philadelphia region. With the creation of Verizon Wireless in 2000, Stratton assumed the role of president Northwest area, managing the companys business operations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Montana and the Dakotas. Prior to joining the telecommunications industry, Stratton served in several senior management positions in the consumer electronics industry.
