John Hartnett

Who is John Hartnett?

As senior vice president of global markets, John is responsible for Palm's sales and customer support for

all channels, including retail, distribution, carrier, eCommerce and Palm's Retail Stores.

Before his current position, John was executive vice president of worldwide operations, service, support

and eCommerce at Handspring, Inc. In October 2003, Handspring and palmOne became one, combined company.

John was a member of the merger leadership team.

Before joining Handspring, John was senior vice president of U.S. marketing, support and operations for

MetaCreations. There he was responsible for developing the marketing, branding and advertising strategies

— including online marketing and website redesign

Prior to MetaCreations, John served as director of international operations at Claris, where he developed

and managed the operations business plan and was part of the lead team in the merger of the Applesoft and

Claris business. John also spent time at ATT GIS, Digital Equipment and Wang.

John earned a marketing degree through the Marketing Institute of Ireland, a post grad diploma in finance

through the ACCA and is also a graduate of the executive management program at Stanford University.
